Description: In the wake of current events and prominent sexual harassment/ Title IX cases affecting the legal community, the Ad Idem Corporate Counsel Network is hosting an ethics CLE program, “Rooting out the Rainmaker: Best Practices in Conducting Sexual Harassment Investigations”. Our expert panelists will discuss the unique challenges of conducting investigations of company leaders, including company founders and senior rainmakers. We will discuss issues such as who should conduct the investigation, what is considered privileged, how to protect witnesses from retaliation, whether to fire the wrongdoer if the investigation reveals serious misconduct, and whether (and how) to seek an immediate settlement with the victim(s).

As a part of this program, Ad Idem is launching the Ad Idem Empowerment Forum (AIEF), which is open to all. Please reach out to us at contact@adidemnetwork.org if you’d like to get involved.

Ad Idem Empowerment Forum (AIEF)

Inspired and emboldened by the women lawyers who have bravely come forward to share their stories of sexual harassment in the legal profession, the Ad Idem Corporate Counsel Empowerment Forum was established.

Our mission is to empower and uplift women as a resource and a source of support when women face sexual harassment. Sexual harassers thrive because women have been indoctrinated not to speak up about this issue. We will leverage our relationships and power to combat the culture of silence that has endured for too long.

We seek to ensure that no woman’s career will suffer for speaking out about the challenges women face in the legal profession. Our community is open to all, including those who have not faced harassment. We believe we are the voice of the majority.

** CLE (1 hour) pending in New York, California, Illinois

A Big THANK YOU to Jenner & Block for sponsoring the CLE and supporting the Ad Idem Network! Thank you to the Corporate and Antitrust Forum and In-House Subcommittee of the Women’s Bar Association of D.C. for supporting the Ad Idem mission.
